Prof. Snell is currently a Visiting Professor in the Department of Management at Hang Seng University of Hong Kong. After receiving a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Sheffield, U.K., he began a long association with Lancaster University, U.K., where he obtained an M.A. in Organisational Psychology and a PhD in Management Learning, leaving his position as Lecturer in 1992 to work in Hong Kong. Between 1992 and 2000, he was at the City University of Hong Kong, where for a time he co-ordinated the MBA programme and edited the journal, Management Learning. He joined Lingnan University in 2000 and before retiring from his full-time position there as Professor in December 2019, he served as Head of the Management Department, Director of Business Programmes, Director of Teaching and Learning, and Director of Service-Learning. An exponent of qualitative research methodology, Prof. Snell has completed several funded projects in the areas of managerial and organisational learning, and business ethics. His research on these and related topics has been published in widely respected journals such as Asia Pacific Journal of Management, British Journal of Management, Business & Society, Business Ethics Quarterly, Human Relations, International Business Review, International Journal of Human Resource Management, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of International Management, Journal of Management Studies, Journal of World Business, Management Learning, and Organization Studies. His recent research on service-learning has been published in Academy of Management Learning, Asian Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Management Education, Metropolitan Universities, and Michigan Journal of Community Service Learning. His book, Developing Skills for Ethical Management, was published by Chapman and Hall in 1993. Prof. Snell’s teaching interest include Business Ethics, Leadership and Strategic Management.
