HSMC Policy Research Institute of Global Supply Chain Received Donation from GDHKMC Bay Area Economic And Trade Association for supporting Greater Bay Area Research

The Policy Research Institute of Global Supply Chain (Institute) of HSMC received a donation of half a million Hong Kong dollars from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao-Bay Area Economic And Trade Association (Association) supporting the Institute’s Greater Bay Area policy research.

The donation cheque presentation ceremony was held at the inauguration of the Association on 26 Oct 2017. The Association, initiated by government and business leaders, economic experts and social elites in the Greater Bay Area, aims to support China’s national strategic plan and to promote planning and development of the Greater Bay Area. More than 400 prestigious leaders and elites from all sectors gathered together at the ceremony to witness the inauguration of the Association.

President Simon S M Ho, and Professor Lawrence C Leung, Dean of the School of Decision Sciences received the donation cheque on behalf of HSMC. They expressed sincere gratitude to the Association for its support.

President Ho said, “Hang Seng Management College is glad and honoured to be able to contribute to the development of Greater Bay Area through the Institute’s policy research study. The donation has affirmed society’s recognition to our effort and achievements in policy research.”

Dr Collin Wong, Head of Department of Supply Chain and Information Management, was invited to give some information on the Greater Bay Area Symposium (to be held on 7 December 2017) to all guests.

The Institute is currently working on a Greater Bay Area Project, an in-depth study of the logistics and trade facilitation in the Greater Bay Area to provide policy suggestions for enhancing Hong Kong’s competitiveness. The research team will report its findings at the Symposium.

Some 20 HSMC students rendered assistance at the inauguration. They were very enthusiastic about their participation in this event and had gained valuable learning experience.
