Honours Academy Leadership Training Camp

The HA Leadership Training Camp 2023 took place in September, and was a transformative experience for the HA’s newest members, the fourth cohort. Guided by senior HA students and dedicated staff, the participants engaged in a range of indoor and outdoor challenges to unlock their leadership potential and enhance their teamwork skills.

The camp began with an ice-breaking session, and was followed by group games, team challenges, and adventure-based activities that tested their problem-solving and communication skills, as well as their resilience. The highlight was a city-planning simulation where the students designed their ideal city while considering the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), deepening their understanding of the interconnectedness of the SDGs and the role they can play as leaders in creating a sustainable world.

The Training Camp also consisted of a trust circle, symbolising the importance of collaboration and building a strong foundation within the HA community. Rock climbing, a cherished ritual, became a metaphor for conquering challenges and scaling new heights together.

As the camp concluded, the students expressed gratitude for the transformative experiences, which helped them renew their sense of purpose, self-awareness, and leadership skills.
