The Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL) organised two seminars in the “GenAI in Higher Education and Action” series in October. The seminars focused on the growing popularity of Generative AI and ChatGPT.

The first seminar, titled “GenAI Playbook – 3 ways to bring ChatGPT into your classroom”, was held on 26 October 2023. The invited speaker, Mr Donn Gonda, Lecturer from the Faculty of Education at the University of Hong Kong, introduced three ways to integrate ChatGPT into teaching. Attendants were given hands-on approaches to transform their teaching practices and introduce more innovative teaching techniques.

The second seminar, titled “Enhancing Education: Exploring the Potential of Generative AI in Assessment, Teaching Applications, and Strategies”, took place 31 October 2023. Ir Dr Tang Yuk Ming, Senior Teaching Fellow from the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, was invited to share his insights. Seminar attendants discovered how generative AI can revolutionise assessment design and provide insightful and personalised evaluations that optimise efficiency. From intelligent feedback systems to dynamic assessment frameworks, attendants explored the limitless possibilities that generative AI brings to the classroom.
