Mainland students joined the Student Affairs Office to welcome the new semester

2 February 2023

On 2 February 2023, the Student Affairs Office (SAO) invited mainland Chinese students to join the “Fun Fun開Sem” welcome event and celebrate the commencement of the new semester together. Ms Esther Lee, Director of Student Affairs, delivered welcome remarks to greet all students. Her remarks were followed by a re-engagement session, in which Year 1 students shared stories from the past semester with assigned Case Officers from SAO. Other highlights of the event included a HSUHK Challenge Quiz to enrich students’ knowledge of the University and encourage them to begin their busy and fulfilling semester with fun and cheer!

Students were also reminded to keep an eye on important information, including Residential Colleges applications, College Assembly, HSUHK Hybrid Careers Fair 2023, and overseas exchange programme applications to ensure that they take advantage of different learning opportunities and actively engage in university life along with their studies. Additionally, following an online presentation delivered in September 2022, the New Territories South Crime Prevention Office also joined in the event in-person to further elaborate on how students can avoid becoming victims of telephone scams.
