HSMC Programme Consultation Day 2016

In order to enhance the understanding of applicants, their parents and the public about Hang Seng Management College (HSMC), its programme offerings and, more importantly, the 2016 admission arrangement, the Programme Consultation Day was held on 25 June 2016 and visitors grasped this opportunity to interact with our professors and current students for a thorough understanding of the interested programmes and admission tips. Apart from attending written tests or interviews required by respective programmes on the spot, current applicants were furnished with the most up-to-date application and admission arrangement especially after the release of HKDSE examination results. In addition to the programme exhibitions and seminars, campus tour service was also provided to showcase the latest and professional teaching facilities, and outstanding learning environment. The event has further consolidated the public’s confidence in HSMC.

School of Communication

Studentsof the School of Communication played an active role in coordinating theprogramme exhibition and actively answering visitors’ enquiries. In order tolet visitors to have a better understanding of the BJC programme, Mr Brian So andMs Sharon Chen, Senior Lecturers, conducted twodemo lectures in the BJC TV Studio. How to use the broadcasting and shooting equipment was demonstrated as well. Studentswho intended to apply for the BJC programme were invited to have an interview on thatday.

A newprogramme, Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Convergent Media and CommunicationTechnology, will be launched in the coming academic year, Professor Trevor Siu held two seminar sessions to introduce the programme features to the visitors.

School of Business

Two information seminars sessions of the Bachelor of BusinessAdministration (Honours) (BBA) programme were held, delivered by Programme Director Professor Raymond So and Associate Programme Director Dr Felix Tang respectively to updatethe latest development of the programme, such as curriculum,admission criteria, outbound exchange, internship opportunities andprofessional recognition.

 

An exhibition booth was set up for theguests to interact with BBA students from the StudentAssociation of Business Administration (SABA) and the academic staff, so that theycould have a better understanding of the programme and campus life.

The Department of Chinese

 

The Department of Chinese set up an informationbooth and held lecture talks to introduced the Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Chineseprogramme. Teaching staff and students of the department explained the programme to interested parties and answered enquiries. The department also arranged written test and interview for candidates. Many students andparents visited the booth and attended the talks.

 

School of Translation

 

At the booth of the School of Translation, programmeinformation of the Bachelor of Translation withBusiness and thenewly launched Master of Arts in Translation(Business and Legal) degrees was displayed. Participants hada happy chat with the teaching staff and students on studies and the vibrantcollege life. Visitors also had a chance to try using the state-of-the-art interpreting facilities at theFung Yiu King Hall after attending the programme seminar

 

The Department of Supply Chain and InformationManagement

 

Twosessions of programme seminar were also held by the Bachelor of Business Administration(Honours) in Supply Chain Management and Bachelor of Management Science andInformation Management (Honours).  BBA-SCMProgramme Director Dr Stephen Ng, Dr Yue Wang and BMSIM Programme Director DrCollin Wong introduced the programme structures to the students and parents andanswered their enquiries.
