Seminar on “Teaching and Learning with Emerging Technologies”

To provide colleagues with better knowledge about emerging technologies for teaching and learning, the Centre for Teaching and Learning and Staff Development Committee jointly organised a seminar entitled “Teaching and Learning with Emerging Technologies” on 12 Apr 2018.  Dr Daniel Mo, Associate Director of the Centre for Teaching and Learning (E-learning Section), and Dr Ricky Wong, Assistant Professor of the Department of Supply Chain and Information Management, were invited as seminar speakers.

In the seminar, Dr Mo and Dr Wong demonstrated how to transform from conventional education platform to smart education platform to enhance the quality of teaching and learning. Dr Mo introduced the new e-learning services and demonstrated some e-learning tools to facilitate the interaction with students. Dr Wong also shared his valuable experience about using simulation and online game in his lectures. The seminar was instructive and enlightening. Participants were keen to raise questions and discuss with the speakers during the Q & A session.

The seminar was followed by a visit to the Virtual Reality (VR) and Big Data Analytics Laboratory for participants’ better understanding of the VR technology.
