Professor Chan Wai-sum, Dean of the School of Decision Sciences (SDSC), received the 2026 PhD Alumni Leadership Award from Temple University’s Fox School of Business and Management (FSBM) on 1 May 2026. He is the first scholar from Hong Kong to receive this prestigious award, which honours one PhD alumnus annually for outstanding leadership and research contributions. 

A 1989 Applied Statistics PhD graduate from Temple, Professor Chan has authored over 120 peer-reviewed publications and has taught business statistics, finance, and actuarial science since 1990.
