The Graduate School held its 2026 Postgraduate Orientation on 3 September, welcoming over 1,200 new students under the theme “Leading the Future, Beyond Imagination”. The diverse cohort, comprising students from Hong Kong, Chinese Mainland, Australia, Canada, Singapore, the US, Pakistan, India, Russia and beyond, underscores HSUHK’s growing international appeal.
At the ceremony, Professor Joshua Mok, President of HSUHK, urged students to embrace innovation and a global vision, while Professor Jeanne Fu, Vice-President (Learning and Student Experience), encouraged them to seize opportunities inside and outside the classroom.
Support units also outlined key resources about academic pathways and enrichment initiatives, research tools and digital facilities, and wellness and co-curricular programmes.
A Welcoming Fair on the same day featured practical briefings for non-local students from representatives from the Hong Kong Police Force and the Customs and Excise Department. Partners including the Privacy Commissioner’s Office and Communications Authority also participated.
The Graduate School also introduced its HIGH Programme, which offers Cantonese classes, academic workshops and cultural trips to aid integration.
