The HSUHK Founders’ Day 2021 Youth Development Forum will be held by The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong on 16 March 2021 (Tuesday). The topic is “Youth Engagement in Sustainable Development: Ways and Challenges”.
Sustainable development means that human beings should not only care about their current needs, but also concern about the interests of our future generations. This is an important issue that every nation across the world puts high on their agenda, and it has been permeated into our work, culture and daily life under different names and approaches. The United Nations promoted the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in late 2015, aiming at addressing pressing issues such as poverty, sustainable economic growth, equal opportunities for education and employment, combating climate change and protecting the environment and ecology, etc. The global community expects to reach phased targets by 2030 through collective efforts. This Forum will explore the participation and challenges of young people in two of the major areas: environment protection and social inclusion.
