HSMC Students and Teachers Participated in Hong Kong Marathon 2018

21 January 2018

Some 80 HSMC students and staff members took part in the Hong Kong Marathon 2018 held on 21 Jan 2018. Among them, more than 80%  competed in the 10km Race, 12 runners went for the Half Marathon and three runners challenged the Marathon.

The Student Affairs Office arranged a series of training such as pose running workshop and race pack pick-up services before the competition, and held an introductory workshop together with the runners of the Open University of Hong Kong.

Similar to last year, a booth was set up for providing luggage storage services, supplement support while a cheering team was there to boost morale near the finishing line. Besides, a student from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University taking Master in Physiotherapy programme was invited to offer on-field support including sports massage and passive stretching to HSMC runners.

Gratitude must be given to the support from staff members and student helpers. Lam Man Yi, Eugenia, a student taking Bachelor of Journalism and Communication (Honours) programme, helped design the running uniform and hoodies. The Chinese Recreation Club, Hong Kong provided space for HSMC’s baggage storage booth while Ryoden Development Charity Trust sponsored all the back-up services.
