To promote a culture of innovation and creativity at HSMC, the Centre for Teaching and Learning organised the third HSMC Innovation Project Competition in the academic year 2017/18. A total of 13 project proposals were received from about 30 participants.
The Award Presentation Ceremony was held on 23 May 2018, during which a reception and a poster presentation by participants were also held prior to the ceremony. Staff and students listened to the presentations, raised questions and shared their views on the projects.
At the ceremony, Professor Y V Hui, Vice-President (Academic and Research), and Mr K P Cheng, HSMC College Council member, delivered speeches and presented the awards to all selected teams and projects.

Mr K P Cheng presented the Merit Award in Social Innovation to the project “Recycling Club” by the team “Small Potato”.
Mr K P Cheng presented the Excellence Award in Social Innovation to the project “Airkitchen” by the team “Team 飯”.
Professor Y V Hui presented the Merit Award in Humanities Innovation to the project “Exploring Emojis: Emojis and Presenting their Practical Usages” by the team “STFU”.
Professor Y V Hui presented the Excellence Award in Humanities Innovation to the project “InstruMuse – Online Music Coaching Programme” by the team “Coffee C”.
