Cultural Tour for HSMC’s International Exchange Students

30 August 2018

Twenty-two international exchange students of HSMC joined a cultural tour arranged by the Institute for Youth Sustainability Leadership of HSMC (IYSL) and a social enterprise Walk In Hong Kong on 30 Aug 2018, enabling them to better understand the history and culture of Hong Kong.

The cultural tour was divided into two sections. In the afternoon section “Hello, Hong Kong”, students visited historical sites in Central and Sheung Wan such as Statue Square, Tai Kuwn, St John’s Cathedral and Man Mo Temple. They also got on a tram to view the skyscrapers on Hong Kong Island. In the evening section “Good Evening, Kowloon”, students visited the Red Brick Building in Jordan and the wholesale fruit market in Yau Ma Tei. They enjoyed dim sum and local cuisines, and listened to Cantopop in a singing parlour. The tour ended with a visit to Tin Hau Temple and Temple Street.

The cultural tour was fully sponsored by IYSL. Student Affairs Office of HSMC rendered support by liaising with the students soon after they arrived in Hong Kong. It is hoped that through this cultural tour, exchange students of HSMC can better understand Hong Kong and enjoyed their stay in the city with a wonderful beginning.
