Honours Academy annual leadership training camp fosters leadership beyond classroom

24 May 2026

The Honours Academy (HA) organised an annual leadership training programme for its 6th cohort members on 24 May 2026. Designed to go beyond the traditional classroom, the programme featured a series of simulated challenges that enabled students to develop leadership skills through hands-on experience.

The core of the training involved tangible bamboo builds, where teams constructed water balloon catapults and sailed self-made rafts under tight timeframes, putting creativity and collaboration into practice. Another highlight was rappelling. Students confronted their fears, finding courage not in speed, but in stepping forward with encouragement from their teammates.

This event also served as HA’s annual “family day”, with seniors from previous cohorts and HA Heads joining to bond and mentor the newest members.

HA annual leadership training programme celebrates unity and the passing on of leadership spirit.
Students build communication, delegation, and collaborative problem-solving skills through hands-on teamwork.
From design to launch, students navigate the water together on a bamboo raft, demonstrating teamwork, ownership and practical problem-solving.
With trust and courage, students take on a high altitude abseiling challenge.
