The Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL) hosted the HSUHK Teaching Excellence Awards (2024-2025) Sharing Seminar III on 28 May 2026. Awards recipient Ms Chu Yau-mui, Part-time Lecturer in the Department of Chinese, spoke on “Ships and Legacies: Useful, Fun and Friendship”.

The sharing session focused on three themes—Useful, Fun and Friendship. Through interactive group activities and games, participants were able to experience Ms Chu’s effective teaching methods. Towards the end of the seminar, Ms Chu reflected on “Friendship”, highlighting the importance of recognising individual strengths and mutual appreciation in teaching. She concluded with the Chinese proverb “casting a brick to attract jade”, emphasising that meaningful professional growth comes from educators learning from and inspiring one another.
