The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK) held its annual Careers Fair in early March, and for the first time, collaborated with the Civil Service Bureau. The Fair featured a “Government Job Recruitment Day”, with approximately 20 government departments and organisations participating, including the Treasury, the Planning Department, Census and Statistics Department, as well as all six disciplined services branches.
Over 170 local, Greater Bay Area, and multinational corporations joined the Fair and welcomed about 1,000 students. This year’s HSUHK Careers Fair focused on “Artificial Intelligence and Data Literacy”. In his opening remarks, Professor Simon S M Ho, President of HSUHK, highlighted the profound and rapid changes that AI is bringing to the job market. ” The development of artificial intelligence has swift and significant impacts on the employment landscape. We hope to enhance students’ insight into what the future job market may look like, and through our programmes equip them with the right tools, and integrate AI into their education and career preparations, thereby strengthening their competitiveness.”
In line with the fair’s theme, HSUHK also partnered with the Data Literacy Association (DaLa) and organised a talk that helped boost students’ understanding of the importance of data literacy in the age of a digital economy.
