Visit to Hong Kong Disneyland

12 November 2014

To better understand the operations in media relations, students from TRA3103 Public Relations Translation visited Hong Kong Disneyland on 12 November and attended a sharing on public affairs conducted by its director of media relations, Ms Lana Wong.

Compassion, conservation and creativity have been the core values of the theme park and the media relations team serves to promote and uphold these values. Disneyland attaches importance to the precision of word use in conferences, events, interviews and press releases to convey its distinctive image as an icon of dreams and imagination. Ms Wong also shared with the students the importance of being a guest-oriented corporation, crisis-management strategies and the translation-related issues they encountered. Students were also given a tour to immerse in the ambience of the theme park.
