HSMC Photo Competition 2013 Award Presentation Ceremony
HSMC Photo Competition organized by the Communications and Public Affairs Office (CPAO) was completed and the award presentation ceremony was held on 28 January 2014. Prof. Gilbert Fong, Acting Presidents and Provost, Prof. Scarlet Tso, Associate Vice-President (Communications and Public Affairs Office) and Dean of School of Communication, Prof. Thomas Luk, Dean of School of Humanities and Mr. Lester Lee, President of Hong Kong Institute of Professional Photographers attended the ceremony.
HSMC Photo Competition 2013 aimed to encourage students to appreciate and enjoy different parts of the college and take a snapshot of every precious moment of their campus life. We were delighted to have Prof. Gilbert Fong, Mr. Lester Lee and Mr. Chan Wing Wah, Lecturer of Department of Journalism and Communication to be our Judges. Many students submitted their photos and the judges selected the Champion, the First Runner-up, the Second Runner-up and 30 Merit Awards among numerous photos. Besides, the competition also specially set a “Most Popular Award” which was voted by the public on a social network website. All the awarded photos were published in the college calendar.
During the ceremony, Prof. Gilbert Fong shared his point of view and experience about photography. Mr. Lester Lee also explained the criteria of the evaluations and shared his own experience about photo taking. They both expressed their expectation on the upcoming year’s photo competitions which can record the rapid development of the campus.
Awarded photos’ exhibition was held at the same time and after the ceremony, those exhibition boards will be moved to the ground floor of Block A and the exhibition area of the Library.
