i-Cable TV Financial Seminar 2013 Co-organized by HSMC and i-Cable

The i-Cable TV Financial Seminar 2013 was successfully held by HSMC and i-Cable TV at Hyatt Regency Hong Kong Hotel on 26 Oct 2013. Six financial experts were invited as the guest speakers for the seminar, including Professor Raymond So, Dean of School of Business of HSMC and Mr Alan Luk, Assistant General Manager and Head of Investment Advisory of Hang Seng Bank.

Mr. John Tsang Chun-wah, GBM, JP, the Financial Secretary, was invited to be the keynote speaker. Mr. Tsang wished a complete success of the seminar and he pointed out that as one of the international financial centers, Hong Kong should take measures to raise its entire competence in the financial industry.

Professor Gilbert Fong, Acting President of HSMC delivered a welcome speech to Mr. Tsang and the guests. He said: “Being an institution of higher education, we are striving to keep a close relationship with the business world. We look forward to nurturing and providing more business specialists to support the development of the financial industry.” Prof. Fong also expressed his will to build up a “Supply chain model” with i-Cable through this seminar and to work together to promote the prosperity and stability of Hong Kong society.

Mr. Ronald Chiu, Executive Director of i-Cable News Limited thanked HSMC’s support on the event. He also expressed his appreciation to HSMC for fostering more financial news reporters to the media industry.

Nearly a hundred students attended the seminar and they all deemed it a great opportunity to gain more financial knowledge outside the classroom as they had a chance to listen to different famous financial experts’ perspectives on financial issues.
