Computing Research Seminar (2014/15): “My 40 Years of Academic Life”

Prof Chin shared his experiences in academia inthe talk. Tworesearch problems (Database Security and Bioinformatics) and two consultationprojects (Hong Kong International Airport and .hk domain names) were sharedwith the audiences. Prof Chin talked about the common aim of these interestingexamples of research work and consulting service and how this aim is carriedforward to the teaching of students. He also touched on how a Bachelor of Artsdegree in Computing can serve the needs of the society and explain thedifferences between creative computing and human-centred computing.
