Mock News Conference

Public Relations Translation features hands-on practical training in the entire corporate workflow. Students prepared bilingual press releases, press kits and presentation videos, and in the very last week of the semester, after rehearsal, they put all these together in a mock press conference held at Fung Yiu King Hall.

Students’ creativity and innovation were manifested in their proposals for modification to existing products or ideas. As in real business context, students distributed bilingual press kits and press releases on the spot. Besides delivering presentation, they also added liveliness to the occasion by providing on-stage consecutive interpreting.

Developing competence in public speaking and event planning are among the intended learning outcomes of the mock conference. It requires meticulous attention to details and careful preparation to execute every aspect of the event, ranging from the event outfit to the structure of the presentation.
