An HSUHK delegation attended the QS Higher Ed Summit: Asia Pacific 2026, held from 3 to 5 November in Bali, Indonesia. The event brought together 1,500 leaders from universities, government and industry to examine the next chapter of higher education across the region.
During the Summit, Professor Joshua Mok, President of HSUHK, spoke on the panel “The Partnership Imperative: Why International Collaboration Matters More Than Ever,” where he explained that successful partnerships are built on respect, trust, and a shared vision and mission. He also noted that deep collaboration begins with a bold vision but requires concrete action and careful implementation. As an example, he cited the establishment of the Asia Pacific Higher Education Research Partnership, which comprises 30 member institutions, including leading universities worldwide. President Mok also joined fellow university leaders at the Presidents’ Roundtable, “The AI Century: Will Asia Pacific Lead It?”
In Bali, HSUHK signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Adamson University in the Philippines to establish collaboration and exchange. The delegation also met with representatives from universities in Brunei, Taiwan, Malaysia, Korea, France, Indonesia, Vietnam and Singapore to explore opportunities for academic collaboration and student exchange.
The delegation also witnessed the unveiling of the QS World University Rankings: Asia 2027, in which HSUHK climbed 50 places to 464th, ranking 153rd among institutions in China and 107th in Asia for both Citations per Paper and International Students.
