HSUHK climbs 50 places into Asia’s top 500 in QS Asia Rankings

HSUHK has risen 50 places to 464th in the QS World University Rankings: Asia 2027, up from 514th last year, moving the University into Asia’s top 500.

Beyond the overall rise, HSUHK recorded particularly strong results in areas that reflect its growing academic and international profile. It ranks 107th in Asia for both Citations per Paper (score: 91.2) and International Students (score: 89.3), the latter highlighting the increasingly international character of its learning community.

The 2027 results place HSUHK 237th in Eastern Asia and 153rd among 522 ranked institutions in China.

HSUHK President Professor Joshua Mok said: “The latest results bring together several encouraging markers: a 50-place gain in a single year, entry into Asia’s top 500, and 107th-place standings in both research citation impact and international students. Behind these numbers lies the sustained work that shapes a university over the long term: scholarship that reaches fellow researchers, an academic community increasingly connected with the wider world, and students learning in an environment enriched by perspectives from beyond Hong Kong.”

Professor Mok added that, as HSUHK continues to strengthen its academic profile and regional connections, the latest ranking reflects a university that is gaining recognition while extending the reach of its ideas and community across Asia.
