Dr Kenneth Chan has over ten years of experience in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system implementation and tertiary education across the Asia Pacific region. He has provided consultancy services and developed successful projects in various industry sectors. Before joining the Hang Seng University of Hong Kong, Dr Chan taught at several local institutions, delivering courses in software engineering, data science, and financial technology. Dr Chan holds a PhD from the University of the West of England and an MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management (AGSM) at the University of New South Wales.
In addition to his industrial and consultancy experience, Dr Chan has been teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses in data science, financial technology, and software engineering for over two decades. His unique blend of business acumen and technical expertise enables him to connect theoretical concepts with practical applications, preparing students for real-world challenges in the technology sector.
Dr Chan's current research interests focus on big data analytics and artificial intelligence, particularly in environmental monitoring, computer vision applications, and the integration of AI technologies to address complex sustainability challenges. He is dedicated to advancing interdisciplinary approaches that combine data science, environmental science, and urban planning to tackle pressing global issues through innovative technological solutions.
