To promote effective practices of e-teaching and e-learning at HSUHK, the Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL) and Staff Development Committee (SDC) jointly organised a seminar titled “E for…”: Effective E-Teaching-and-Learning Practices on 23 Jan 2020. We were honoured to have Dr Benson Lam, Dr Joyce Lee, Mr Lawrence Leung, Dr Eko Liao, Dr Y W Siu and Dr George Ho, who were from various Departments/Schools, to share the tips, techniques and the latest development of e-teaching-and-learning with us on the following topics:
Topic | Speaker |
---|---|
Statistics behind RPG | Dr Benson Lam Department of Mathematics and Statistics |
The Use of Quizzes in Google Forms & Zoom (Breakout Sessions & Chat Message) | Dr Joyce Lee Department of English |
Using MS Word with Some Regexes | Mr Lawrence Leung School of Translation |
Online Consultation and Project-Based Assessment | Dr Eko Liao Department of Management |
The Various E-teaching Tools Adopted and the Tricks of Time-controlled Excel-based Assessment | Dr Y W Siu Department of Economics and Finance |
E-tools for Interest-based Learning and Presentation | Dr George Ho Department of Supply Chain and Information Management |
In the seminar, the speakers not only shared how to transform from traditional teaching, learning and assessments to a variety of e-platforms, but also demonstrated how to apply different e-learning tools to facilitate their online teaching and assessment, and to enhance their interaction with students. The participants were keen to raise questions and discuss with our speakers during the Q&A session.
The seminar was well attended by over 40 participants from different Departments/Schools. Participants found the sharing seminar inspiring and useful, especially for tackling the expected face-to-face class suspension.
The videos and presentation files of the seminar are available on CTL website, you are welcome to visit our website.
