Discussion Rooms A109–A110, located on the first floor of the Library in the S H Ho Academic Building at The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK), have been named “FTLife Discussion Rooms” in recognition of the recent donation from FTLife Insurance Company.
Held on 12 December, the Naming Ceremony was officiated by Mr Gerard Yang, FTLife’s Chief Executive Officer and Professor Simon S M Ho, President of HSUHK.
In his welcome remarks, President Ho expressed his gratitude to FTLife for their kind contribution to the University’s long-term development. President Ho emphasised that HSUHK was a private university that combined social capital and community wisdom, and its development had relied on community support in the form of resource provision and donations. He said the University would uphold its founding motto “Erudition and Perseverance” and diligently implement the initiatives set out in the University’s 5-Year Strategic Plan to nurture more responsible future professionals and leaders for society.
Mr Yang commended HSUHK during his speech for its enthusiasm for higher education. He said the University attached great importance to whole-person education, providing the students with ample internship and exchange opportunities, which enabled them to gain industry experience in preparation for their future career paths. Mr Yang also encouraged students to think outside the box with a 360-degree perspective in order to fulfil their social responsibility. FTLife looked forward to joining hands with HSUHK and its students to develop and excel together.
The well-equipped FTLife Discussion Rooms are ideal for collaborative studies, group discussions and presentations.
