Lunchtime Chinese Folk Dance Gala

With the aims to broaden students’ horizons and enhance their interestsin arts, Arts at HSMC brought on, forthe first time, an energetic Lunchtime Chinese Folk Dance Gala presented by theHong Kong Dance Company on 2 March 2016 at the outdoor basketball court, 2/F, BlockM. The dance gala was supported by the Sin Wai Kin Chinese Culture PromotionScheme.

On a fine sunny day, the performers kicked off the show by introducingsome basic techniques of Chinese classical dance, followed by seven episodes ofdances in different styles and costumes. The audience were amazed by thedancers’ exquisite movements. There were interactive sessions in between, wherestudents and audience were invited to learn and practice playing with Chinese dancing props. The fun-filled dance gala introduced the HSMCcommunity to learn more about the different aspects of Chinese arts andcultures.
