The International Symposium on Data Science Frontier, held from 8 to 10 July 2026 and organised by the Department of Mathematics, Statistics and Insurance at HSUHK, brought together international academics and industry experts to explore the latest developments in data science.

The event featured distinguished speakers including Professor Alan Liew, Head of the School of Information and Communication Technology at Griffith University; Professor Thomas Lee, Associate Dean of the Faculty of Mathematical and Physical Sciences, College of Letters and Science, University of California, Davis; and Professor Yang Hailiang from Shanghai University of International Business and Economics. Their presentations explored the transformative impact of artificial intelligence across machine learning, economics and finance, and biostatistics and health.

Participants gained hands-on exposure to advanced methods in spatiotemporal regression and reinforcement learning, while industry experts shared real-world AI case studies. The symposium highlighted key advancements in data science and fostered productive dialogue.
