The Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL), the Human Resources Office, and the Office of Provost and Vice-President (Academic and Research) jointly organised the HSUHK Induction Programme for New Academic Staff 2026 on 17 and 18 August. The Programme introduced the University’s vision, academic environment and key initiatives.
Professor Simon Ho, President of HSUHK, delivered a welcome message, highlighting the University’s unique “Liberal + Professional” education model and its commitment to nurturing students with the “5Cs”: Critical thinking, Creativity, Communication/Collaboration, Caring attitudes, and Continuous active learning.
Professor Joshua Mok, Provost and Vice-President (Academic and Research) and President-designate, outlined the University’s vision and role in Hong Kong’s higher education sector. Professor David Tse, Acting Provost and Vice-President (Academic and Research)-designate; Professor Jeanne Fu, Vice-President (Learning and Student Experience); and Dr Josiah Chan, Vice-President (Organisational Development) shared about teaching and learning, student experience, research and scholarship, performance appraisal, governance, and campus wellness.
CTL also organised seminars themed “Teaching Excellence in the New Semester: Refresh, Recharge, and Renew” to equip participants for the new academic year on AI-enhanced teaching, learning and research, VR/metaverse integration, etc., as well as a module redesign session on AI, service-learning and experiential pedagogy.
