HSUHK’s Institute of Knowledge Exchange organises symposium on “Integrating Culture, Sports, and Tourism: Unleashing Possibilities”

The Institute of Knowledge Exchange (IKE) at The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK) hosted a symposium titled “Integrating Culture, Sports, and Tourism: Unleashing Possibilities” on 3 October in collaboration with the Tourism, Heritage & Sports Education Hub; the Greater Bay Area Medical Professional Development Association; Asia Academy for Sports and Fitness Professionals; and Ko Live Media.

Distinguished speakers from the culture, sports, and tourism sectors included Mr Ivan Wong, Chief Executive of Ocean Park; Mr Ip Ka-po, Director of Creation TV; and Mr Heung Pak-wing, IFMA International Gold Champion, who shared invaluable insights into their respective fields. Their presentations deeply resonated with attendees, and sparked meaningful discussions on the vital role of culture, sports and tourism in Hong Kong’s economy and society.

Professor Simon Ho, President of HSUHK, emphasised that culture, sports and tourism are integral to daily life, enriching humanistic values and aligning with liberal arts education. Dr John Leung, Associate Vice-President (Knowledge Exchange) and Director of IKE, highlighted the interconnected nature of the culture, sports, and tourism sectors, noting their complementary roles in generating significant societal and economic benefits. Professor Gavin Chau, Associate Director (Academic and China Liaison) of IKE, said, “In order to support government’s policies on culture, sports and tourism, HSUHK plans to offer courses that will nurture more talent for the advancement of Hong Kong’s culture, sports and tourism industries.”
