The Start-up and SME Resource Centre (SSRC) of the School of Business hosted the launch ceremony and ESG symposium for The HSUHK Outstanding SME ESG and Business Performance Award 2026 on 12 October 2026. Supported by 36 partner organisations, this flagship initiative encourages small and medium-sized enterprises to embed ESG principles in their core operations.
In his welcoming address, Professor Joshua Mok, President of HSUHK, emphasised that ESG extends far beyond carbon reduction, describing it as a fundamental approach to modern business management and everyday life.
Echoing these remarks, Dr Raymond Fu, Chairperson of the SSRC External Advisory Committee, reaffirmed the shared commitment to supporting local SMEs.
Distinguished industry experts from DBS Bank (Hong Kong), the Fullness Social Enterprises Society, and Riskory Consultancy shared valuable insights into sustainable finance, social impact, and corporate governance. Attended by around 150 guests, the symposium highlighted practical pathways for SMEs to create long-term value for both business and society.
