HSUHK delegation visits Hangzhou to foster innovation and deepen industry-academia collaboration

An HSUHK delegation visited Hangzhou from 7 to 13 August 2026 for the “Innovation, Industry-Academia-Research and Exchange Tour” to gain insights into the city’s innovation and technology development, explore its industry-academia-research ecosystem, and strengthen ties with universities, enterprises, and alumni in Chinese Mainland.

Led by President Simon Ho, the delegation toured leading tech firms including BrainCo, Unitree Robotics, and Alibaba, gaining insights into brain-computer interfaces, intelligent robotics, AI applications, large language models, smart logistics and digital commerce. Discussions covered collaboration in research, student development, innovation support and the University’s long-term growth to strengthen university-industry partnerships.

At Zhejiang University, the delegation discussed academic development, talent cultivation, as well as potential research and student exchange programmes.

The delegation also met with HSUHK alumni currently residing in Hangzhou. Alumni shared their experiences in the city, as well as the knowledge, values and inspiration they had gained during their studies at HSUHK.
