HSUHK deepens Hong Kong-Guangzhou collaboration in youth innovation and entrepreneurship

HSUHK signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with SuiGang Link Consulting Company Limited in Nansha, Guangzhou on 12 June 2026, and hosted a forum for the “GBA Youth Start-up and Social Innovation Programme” organised by the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE). The event brought together representatives from the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Guangdong (GDETO), the Guangzhou Committee Youth League, the Guangzhou Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship Service Centre, the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of Nansha District, as well as other partner organisations across the Greater Bay Area (GBA), to witness the achievements of Hong Kong-Guangzhou collaboration in youth innovation and entrepreneurship.
The MoU was signed by Dr Ken Yau, Head of Global Affairs at HSUHK, and Mr Hugo Lin, General Manager of SuiGang Link, signifying closer collaboration in youth innovation and entrepreneurship incubation, resource integration, and project implementation. Ms So Tsz-yin, Deputy Director of the GDETO, remarked that strengthened Guangdong-Hong Kong collaboration will further promote youth exchanges and innovation-driven development.
Since its establishment, CIE has incubated more than 100 start-up teams across areas including artificial intelligence, green technology and social innovation. This year, 13 outstanding start-up teams were selected for the GBA Youth Start-up and Social Innovation Programme. Among them, PrimeUnity Education, UltraGuardian Co., Ltd., and The Peel were invited to showcase their projects and innovative practices in education technology, intelligent welding, and health-focused citrus tea formulations, and to discuss the opportunities and challenges of entrepreneurship in the GBA.
