HSUHK makes stellar debut in 2025 SCImago rankings

The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK) achieved a stellar debut in the 2025 SCImago Institutions Rankings, ranking second among Hong Kong’s four self-financing universities and ninth among the city’s 12 universities. This milestone highlights HSUHK’s rapid rise in higher education, driven by its commitment to academic excellence and societal impact.

HSUHK stands out in key disciplines, leading self-financed universities in Business, Management and Accounting, Computer Science, and Environmental Science. These strengths reflect the University’s strategic emphasis on cutting-edge research that tackles global and regional challenges, from sustainable development to digital innovation.

Professor Joshua Mok, Provost and Vice-President (Academic and Research), expressed pride in HSUHK’s first-time recognition in the  SCImago Rankings. “This achievement reflects our dedication to the pursuit of knowledge creation and our mission to shape a better future through innovative, impactful research,” he said.

The SCImago Institutions Rankings, a globally recognised benchmark, assesses universities based on research performance, innovation, and societal influence.
