Bachelor of Journalism and Communication (Honours) Concentration Briefing Session

27 February 2019

The BJC Concentration Briefing Session was held for all BJC year 2 students on 27 February 2019 to enhance their knowledge of the two BJC concentrations, namely Business Journalism and Corporate Communication, and thereby to enable them to make appropriate choices between the two concentrations.

Professor James Chang, Associate Dean, pointed out the importance of concentration selection from the perspectives of postgraduate studies, career paths and personal interests. He also encouraged students to participate in the University’s and the School’s activities enthusiastically to enrich their learning experiences.

Later Dr Meily Cheung, Programme Director, and Mr Brian So, Senior Lecturer, introduced the Business Journalism and Corporate Communication concentration to students, including the course contents, workshops, internship opportunities and career prospects, etc. They also indicated that selection of a particular concentration will not narrow student’s career prospects as the school provides a wide range of elective modules for students to choose from. Students should therefore make choices based on personal interests and visions.

Professor James Chang, Associate Dean, spoke to students and encouraged them to choose a concentration according to their strengths and career aspirations.
