Accountancy symposium discusses Hong Kong’s role in mainland enterprises’ global expansion

The Department of Accountancy hosted the ACY Symposium 2026 on 14 April, which focused on “Hong Kong as the Strategic Hub for Mainland Enterprises’ Global Expansion: Innovation, Connectivity, and Collaboration”. The event attracted approximately 200 participants, including academics, industry leaders, students and guests.

Professor Simon Ho, President of HSUHK, and Mr Wilfred Yiu, former Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited, delivered keynote addresses. They explored the opportunities and challenges facing Chinese Mainland enterprises’ globalisation journey and the importance of cross-border cooperation. Panel discussions highlighted how Hong Kong’s robust corporate governance, transparent financial reporting, strong legal system, and world-class financial ecosystem can empower Chinese Mainland enterprises to expand successfully into global markets.
