Module Description
The Internet has become an integral part of our everyday lives. This module gives an overview of what the Internet is and how it works by explaining some fundamental concepts such as networks, servers and clients that are used to build the Web for providing new ways of accessing, interacting and connecting with people and content. Students are also introduced to the workflow of Internet application development using HTML, CSS and JavaScript to explore the basic computer programming techniques with function, array and object.
Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this module, students should be able to:

  1. describe the fundamental concepts of the Internet and the Web;

  2. explain how to access Internet services and applications with different devices;

  3. set up a basic workflow for web app development; and

  4. apply programming techniques to assemble an interactive simple user interface using HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
