Prerequisites:	TRA1011 Fundamentals of Interpreting TRA2011 Consecutive Interpreting 1 or with the Instructor’s permission and upon endorsement of the relevant Chairperson and Programme Director

The purpose of this module is to consolidate and build on the interpreting skills students have acquired from the modules “Fundamentals of Interpreting” and “Consecutive Interpreting 1.” It aims to strengthen their ability in interpreting between Chinese (Cantonese; with special emphasis on Putonghua) and English.

Upon completion of this module, students should be able to:

1. provide interpreting to various subject matters through hands-on training;
   
   


2. prepare themselves and clients for an interpreting assignment;
   
   


3. deal with agencies and clients in a professional manner;
   
   


4. perform consecutive interpreting effectively; and
   
   


5. understand and uphold professional ethics.
