Module Description
The primary aim of this module is to enable students to interpret and examine international issues from a more general perspective. It is hoped that exposure to various theoretical approaches to the study of international relations will impart skills to the students which are useful in examining the major contemporary trends of global order.
Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this module, students should be able to:

  1. describe the major characteristics of the global political system and basic concepts that shape the study of international relations;


  2. demonstrate excellent knowledge of the origins and evolution of the global political system, including contemporary changes rooted by the forces of globalization;


  3. identity and explain various interpretations of global political events and issues; and


  4. critically apply knowledge in cases of international relations.
