Module Description
This module aims to provide a basic foundation for the study of early civilisations and their history. Emphasis is placed on the roots of modernity and the social changes since the Age of Enlightenment.
Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this module, students should be able to:

  1. master the major concepts in the study of civilisation;


  2. analyse the transformation from feudalism to modernity from an economic perspective;


  3. critically review how the civilisations are connected and impact one another as part of a global village; and


  4. evaluate and command wide ranging knowledge on the importance of valid historical research.
