Module Description
This module is designed to equip students with the communication compatibilities needed to lead organizations effectively. The module is divided into four distinct yet interlocking parts. The first part provides an overview of leadership communication, and highlights its nature and significance. The second part reviews some influential theoretical perspectives in leadership communication. Based on the theoretical foundations, some practical skills in leadership communication are delivered in the third part. Lastly, with the understanding of the theories and practical skills in leadership communication, the fourth part focuses on leadership communication in the organizational context, and helps students know how to plan and implement internal and external communication in the workplace. Pedagogically, experiential learning approach is adopted, through which a collection of readings, self-assessments, case studies, and experiential exercises are offered so that students can learn and practise effective leadership from a communication perspective.
Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this module, students should be able to:

  1. identify and analyze the nature and importance of leadership communication;


  2. distinguish the theories of leadership communication;


  3. apply appropriate leadership communication skills in daily life; and


  4. generate corporation plan and implement effective leadership communication.
