The Student Affairs Office (SAO) held the HSUHK Inclusion Week 2024 on campus from 25 to 30 January, themed “We are the same, yet different”. The four-day event united students and staff to champion diversity and foster inclusion. It also provided a transformative platform for meaningful discussions and interactive activities.
To inaugurate the event, the Addoil Workshop was invited to present the captivating and thought-provoking drama performance, “Uni-minds” at the College Assembly. Inspired by real stories and the voices of university students, the performances depicted the authentic experiences and challenges faced by individuals with various Special Educational Needs (SEN).
The Inclusion Booths included NGOs who are dedicated to promoting inclusivity and supporting individuals with special needs. Booths were setup on the ground floor of the S H Ho Academic Building. Attendees learned about the work that the NGOs carry out, engaged in meaningful conversations, and explored creative products crafted by youth with SEN.
HSUHKers also had the opportunity to experience thematic experiential workshops on “Visually Impaired Experiential Game,” “Sports for All – Floor-curling,” and “Process Drama: The Green Children” which offered participants an immersive experience, deepening their understanding of the diverse challenges faced by individuals with special needs.
