The School of Humanities and Social Science (SHSS) of the HSUHK has become a partner of “AusStage: The Australian Live Performance Database”, which is a database devoted to the preservation of live performance culture and history. AusStage has been recognised as “UNESCO Australian Memory of the World” recently to affirm its significance in preserving the world’s cultural heritage.
Hosted by Flinders University, AusStage has been established and managed by a consortium of 27 universities and 6 industry partners and members of the GLAM sector (Galleries, Libraries, Archives and Museums) in Australia and abroad. Its extensive database recording live performance data in Australia by local and overseas artists provides an unparalleled catalogue of the world’s cultural heritage.
SHSS’s recent partnership involvement in AusStage demonstrates its strengths in performance studies. It is also an important step in developing strengths in heritage management at the HSUHK.
