Mr Martin Tam’s Talk on HSMC Jockey Club Student Residence Halls at HKGBC


HSMC wasinvited to the seminar of “Green Buildings in the HospitalityIndustry” organised by theHong Kong Green Building Council (HKGBC). Mr Martin Tam Tin Fong, member of Board ofGovernors and Chairman of Steering Committee on Campus Expansion, representedHSMC to introduce the environmental concept about the construction of HSMCJockey Club Student Residence Halls on 19 March 2015. 

The HSMC Jockey Club Student Residence Halls, which is expected tobe completed by August 2015, has attained the Platinum rating in the ProvisionalAssessmentof BEAM Plus V1.2 by HKGBC. During the seminar, Mr Tam shared HSMC’senvironmental initiatives and concepts in constructing the Residence Halls inSite F and the project stories of the HSMC green campus.

Professor Simon Ho, HSMC President, ProfessorScarlet Tso, Associate Vice-President (Communications and Public Affairs), DrTom Fong, Associate Vice-President (Student Development and Campus Services), DrHackman Lee, Head of Campus Development and Management Office, HSMC staff andother architects attended the seminar and received a valuable lesson onbuilding sustainability from Mr Tam.
