The third academic seminar of the Department of Chinese was organised on 13 October 2016. With thet opic “Anxiety and Enlightenment: Rereading the early works of Zhu Ziqing”, Dr Kwok Sze Wing presented her recent studies on this modern Chinese writer. Through reading famous early works of Zhu, Dr Kwok analysed Zhu’s perception of time, action and revolution, in order to understand the identifications of May Fourth intellectuals on Chinese Enlightenment. The seminar was held by Dr Emily Chau, and the discussion after the sharing was very fruitful.
