The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK) expresses its profound sorrow over the passing of Mr Tung Chee-hwa, former Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and the first Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

Professor Joshua Mok, President of HSUHK, said: “Mr Tung was a steadfast supporter of talent development. During his tenure as Chief Executive, he actively expanded opportunities for higher education, benefiting countless students and ushering in a new chapter for Hong Kong’s educational development. On behalf of HSUHK, I extend our deepest condolences to Mr Tung’s family.”
