Teenagers learn financial literacy at Honours Academy workshop

26 April 2025

On 26 April 2025, the HSUHK Honours Academy (HA) and The Boys’ and Girls’ Clubs Association of Hong Kong’s Community Creativity Learning Centre co-hosted the Financial Innovation Camp: Young Pioneers’ Big Adventure. This event marked the fifth edition of the Pre-Teens Financial Literacy Workshop Series, which empowered 24 participants, primarily from Primary 2 to Form 1, with essential financial literacy skills.

The workshop featured two engaging sessions simulating real-world financial decisions making. Participants began with social stimulation booth games, including supermarket shopping simulations, action games, and creative drawing activities, where they earned “money” to make financial learning interactive. A banking booth allowed young pioneers to deposit their earnings and earn interest, simulating real-world financial practices. The second session introduced the Life Simulation Board Game, complemented by mini lectures.  Structured into stages reflecting secondary school, university life, and early career phases, the game presented financial challenges requiring strategic thinking.
