Teaching Excellence Awards Sharing Seminar Series kicks off

On 12 February 2026, the Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL) launched the HSUHK Teaching Excellence Awards (2024-25) Sharing Seminar Series with a kick-off ceremony officiated by Professor Simon Ho, President of HSUHK; Professor Joshua Mok, Provost and Vice-President (Academic and Research); Professor Jeanne Fu, Vice-President (Learning and Student Experience); and Dr Ben Cheng, Director of CTL.

The sharing seminar, titled “Walking Beside My Students: A Journey of Partnership and Purpose”, featured 2024-25 Teaching Excellence Awards recipient Dr Janice Wong, Lecturer at the School of Communication. Dr Wong shared her philosophy of cultivating empathy and partnership among students for an inclusive classroom environment. She was joined by guest speaker Dr Victor Chan, Associate Director (Service-Learning) at CTL, who illustrated how experiential learning and Service-Learning projects meaningfully support students’ personal and intellectual development.

CTL also launched the eighth issue of My Teaching Story on the same occasion, featuring the teaching journeys of the four 2024-25 Teaching Excellence Awards recipients: Dr Andy Cheng, Associate Professor in the Department of Economics and Finance, School of Business; Ms Chu Yau-mui, Part-time Lecturer in the Department of Chinese, School of Humanities and Social Science; Dr Valerie Tang, Assistant Professor in the Department of Supply Chain and Information Management, School of Decision Sciences; and Dr Janice Wong, Lecturer in the School of Communication.
