August 24, 2023
On 15 and 24 August, the School of Communication (SCOM) organised its new student orientation sessions themed “We Are Different!” for 2023-24 entrants. Year 1 to 3 undergraduates attended the sessions.
Professor Scarlet Tso, Dean of SCOM, welcomed the new students and introduced them to the distinct modules offered by the School. Professor Tso emphasised that SCOM’s comprehensive and progressive modules provide students with unique opportunities to prepare themselves for future social engagements. She encouraged new students to make full use of all resources available to them, and to thoroughly enjoy campus life.
During the event, various programme directors provided detailed information on programme curriculums, academic regulations, summer internships, and graduation requirements to help students plan their learning journey. To give students a better understanding of the School’s academic and campus life, several senior students were invited to share their experiences and offer some practical tips. After sharing sessions, new students added their expectations for campus life on the Life Tree.
During the sessions, new students also had the opportunity to explore the School’s facilities and were able to better understand the opportunities available through SCOM.
