HSUHK’s taught postgraduate programmes selected for the Hong Kong Future Talents Scholarship Scheme for Advanced Studies

26 June 2025

The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK) is pleased to announce that its newly admitted local students in eight taught postgraduate (TPG) programmes will benefit from the “Hong Kong Future Talents Scholarship Scheme for Advanced Studies” (FTSS) established by the Hong Kong Government, commencing in the 2025-26 academic year. This initiative not only alleviates the financial burden on students but also aims to cultivate a pool of high-calibre talent across various domains, further solidifying Hong Kong’s position as an international hub for higher education.

The FTSS will provide scholarships to up to 1,200 local students enrolling in designated TPG programmes at UGC-funded and self-financing institutions, with each scholarship capped at HK$100,000 for the entire programme. The scheme also emphasises social responsibility by requiring awardees to contribute to the local workforce in Hong Kong or the Greater Bay Area after graduation.

The following HSUHK programmes have been selected for inclusion in the FTSS:

  • Master of Science in Insurance

  • Master of Science in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence

  • Master of Science in Global Supply Chain Management

  • Master of Science in Digital Innovation and Technology Management

  • Master of Science in Risk Analytics

  • Master of Arts in Theatre Studies

  • Master of Arts in Translation (Business and Legal)

  • Master of Arts in Translation (Computer-Aided Translation)

The introduction of the FTSS at HSUHK underscores the University’s commitment to academic excellence and innovation. By attracting talented local students, HSUHK will enhance its research capabilities and foster collaborative opportunities with industry partners, creating a vibrant academic environment that encourages creativity and knowledge sharing while nurturing top talent in critical fields such as STEM, digital transformation, cultural exchange and humanities, and creative industries.

HSUHK will begin accepting applications for the FTSS scheme on 2 July 2025. For additional information regarding the FTSS Scheme, including application procedures and eligibility criteria, prospective students are encouraged to visit the HSUHK website or contact the university directly at gs@hsu.edu.hk.
